Avicado hit the road in 2022 to attend events and connect in person. There’s nothing better than spending time with people in our industry learning more about the challenges they face, new ideas or even just to share fun stories. Here’s a recap of where our team spent some time connecting with Owners and partners this fall.
It’s always a nice day in San Diego! Dan Edge and Christy Hunt represented Avicado at the CMAA 2022 conference and attended breakout sessions hearing Owners discuss the future of construction. We heard about the challenges owners continue to face with supply chain and labor impacting their ability to finish projects on schedule and on budget. We also learned how some organizations are adopting technology to help streamline their processes and discussed how Avicado can help.
Avicado also sponsored the Lego Building event where we competed against four other teams building a Lego set.
What would you do?
Start by building a solid foundation? Focus on quality and follow the directions explicitly? Do you go for the audience favorite and build the fun stuff first?
We saw all of these tactics in use. It was great fun!
Our team connected with Owners at the COAA conferences in Wisconsin and Denver.
Avicado was a Flagship sponsor for the COAA Wisconsin event. Our own Stephen Rodney gave an overview of Avicado and connected with those in attendance.
Avicado traveled to Denver for the COAA Connect Fall Conference. We were delighted to sponsor the COAA Cares event for Wish for Wheels where Olivia Barrett, Jose Barunda, Nick Caravella, and Paulina Zawistowska helped build and deliver 40 bicycles for 2nd graders.
We also had a presence at two Data Center focused events. First, Christy Mesa-Sheehan and Mitchell Miller attended the 7×24 Fall Conference with “Building For The Future” as the theme in San Antonio, Tx. Mitchell then joined Jillian Hayes and Ryan Stoughton at Advancing Data Center Construction in Dallas, Tx. At these shows our team learned about trends in modular construction to help improve schedules and how owners are addressing continued challenges with procurement and the supply chain.
Matt Osborne and Christy Hunt connected with their Trimble e-Builder colleagues at the Cityworks Converge conference. They were able to meet with Cityworks Asset Management customers who are also e-Builder users to better understand how Owners use those products to gain better visibility over their projects, programs and assets. Avicado is looking forward to doing more with these teams in 2023.
